I’m a freelance Lebanese artist, illustrator and model maker working in the Middle East. My current practice involves composing mixed media artworks through the manipulation of texture; I call it Scavengerism.
This as my personal attempt to disclose the traces of time and interaction between inorganic matters, such as water and metal. Ranging from repurposed 3D assemblages to digital prints, my approaches involve an acute sensitivity to touch. The layering of material surfaces combines both conventional drawing methods and digital processes. The sentimental and aesthetic results form composite landscapes that are suggestive of eery narratives. Human beings are notably absent from the processes being played out. And yet, the worlds portrayed intentionally entice the viewer into an immersive and imaginary experience.
