Low Tide (2015)
By Lana Charara
A sculptural assemblage of found and made objects.

This work is inspired by Tide pools, their many levels, colours, textures, caves & creatures. It’s inspired by both rocky & sandy shores when the low tide reveals treasures & creatures you wouldn’t have seen during the day. There’s a secret cave under this very small unnoticed island, only when the tide is low will you meet a young harp seal, resting in its favourite spot. This work takes me to a place i’ve wanted to explore for a while & if i can recreate something to give me that feeling, in the form of a treehouse, i would not hesitate or think twice.
